Compulsory Car Insurance: Compulsory Thailand Car Insurance Policies from bolttech

Our compulsory car insurance for private vehicles is the most economical type of cover you can purchase and meets the legal requirements for Compulsory Motor Insurance (CMI) in Thailand. As it is an e-policy, you can pay for it now and benefit from immediate coverage. CTPL insurance in Thailand for cars provides cover for medical expenses as well as compensation for permanent disabilities and loss of limbs, organs and fingers. However, until it is proved that you were not at fault, you are entitled to coverage for medical expenses of no more than B30,000: probably not enough to cover medical bills in the event a serious injury is sustained. If you feel that compulsory Thailand car insurance will not provide the amount of cover for medical treatment that you desire, we recommend taking a look at the  voluntary car insurance policies we have to offer.

Thailand Compulsory Motor Insurance: CTPL Insurance How it Works

Whether you drive a car for personal use or a truck weighing over 3 tones  we can provide you with instant Thailand CTPL insurance that complies with Thai law providing coverage for third parties involved in an accident. Please note, this coverage only includes medical expenses and compensation for death, dismemberment or permanent disability, and there are individual limits for each category, but it is sufficient to meet all of the current legal requirements. If you are looking for more comprehensive cover, we suggest considering voluntary car insurance. We offer the full selection of Type 1, Type 2+, Type 3+ and Type 3 policies, at some of the most competitive rates you will find anywhere in the country. However, for an inexpensive policy that covers drivers on Thai roads for medical treatment and compensation, our Thailand compulsory car insurance is ideal.

Thailand Compulsory Motor Insurance Benefits: How Much Cover CTPL Insurance Provides

As you would expect from such inexpensive cover, Thailand compulsory motor insurance offers a limited number of benefits:

  • Medical Expenses – Before proof of liability, you are entitled to 30,000 baht of cover for medical expenses per person. If you are found not to be liable for the accident, this increases to 80,000 baht per person.
  • General Compensation – CTPL insurance provides compensation for death, dismemberment and permanent disability. Preliminary compensation is limited to 35,000 baht per person, rising to 300,000 baht for permanent disability or 500,000 baht for death / total permanent disability, if it is determined that you were not at fault.
  • In-Patient Compensation – If you are not the party at fault and in-patient treatment is required to treat injuries that resulted from the accident, compensation of 200 baht per day, up to a maximum of 20 days/4,000 baht may be paid.

Whilst the levels of cover provided by a compulsory motor insurance policy are lower than those offered by voluntary policies, the premiums are also much lower, making this type of policy an affordable option for people from all walks of life.
